Sonia de Demandolx

Sonia de Demandolx is specialized in executive search and assessment for board members and C-level executives, having led multiple projects involving board members, CEOs, Executive Vice-Presidents, and General Managers in various sectors such as consumer, private equity, energy, industry, etc.

Previous Experience

Prior to co-founding Demandolx Furtado, Sonia has worked for 10 years in a large international executive search and assessment company, including 7 years in Paris, where she was Partner and Managing Director responsible for leadership and coordination of the practices of board services, corporate finance and private equity, and 3 years in São Paulo, since 2011, as leader of the French Desk and consumer sector in Brazil.

Earlier in her career, Sonia has worked for 6 years at Lazard, as an investment banker, advising large French and international groups in merger and acquisition transactions.

Other Relevant Experiences

Sonia was a board member of Catering International Services, a French-listed company, and the Global Business School Network, a non-profit organization based in Washington D.C., dedicated to the issue of lack of management talent in developing countries, especially in Africa.

Academic Background

Sonia has a B.A. in Business from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP Europe) and a B.A. in Law from Université de Paris X. In addition, she was a special student at the LLM program of Columbia Law School.

Sonia has attended several training programs in coaching and development and has the certification Hogan and M.B.T.I.

She is fluent in French, English, and Portuguese.

Renato Furtado

Renato Furtado is specialized in executive search and assessment for boards and executive committees of companies in financial services, private equity firms and their portfolio companies in various sectors such as real estate, consumer, education, health, specialty retail, hospitality, travel, etc.

Previous Experience 

Before co-founding Demandolx Furtado, Renato worked in 2015 and 2016 at Tarpon Investments, where he was a member of the investment committee, director in charge of People, senior member of the investment team. In addition, Renato was board member of Somos Educação and a member of the People Committee at Cremer.

During the 8 years prior to his period at Tarpon, Renato was Partner and Managing Director of a leading international executive search and assessment firm, in charge of the financial services practices in Brazil. During this time, Renato has led some of the most important search and assessment assignments for banks and private equity firms in Brazil.

Earlier in his career, Renato was a Director at Citigroup, where he has worked for 12 years, having originated, structured, and executed several high-profile corporate finance, credit, capital markets, and derivatives transactions for some of the largest companies in Brazil in various sectors such as petrochemicals, steel, energy, mining, and beverage.

In the beginning of his career, Renato has worked for Banco Nacional (now Itaú Unibanco) and Shell.

Renato is a member of Fundação Estudar and Hermes Society of Columbia Business School, where he plays an active role in hiring and coaching activities.

Academic Background

Renato has a B.S. in industrial Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and na MBA from Columbia Business School. 

Renato has completed several trainings in executive assessment and development and has the Hogan certification.

He is fluent in Portuguese, English, Spanish, and French.
